Summary: How does Comfortis compare with Frontline Plus, Advantage and Advantix? See why Comfortis may be the flea control for you, especially if the traditional spot-ons have stopped working...

Top 4 Reasons to Use Comfortis over a Spot-on

Top 4 reasons to use Comfortis vs a spot-on product such as Frontline Plus, Advantage, or Advantix:

  1. Convenience: The beef-flavored chewable tablets means that dosing is easy! No more messy residue everywhere or chasing the dog around the house to apply a liquid.
  2. Water-fast: Comfortis is not a spot-on, so there is no liquid to wash off. Great for dogs who love the water!
  3. Fast acting: No more waiting 24-48 hours for the fleas to disappear - Comfortis starts killing fleas within 30 minutes, with 100% of fleas killed within only 4 hours.
  4. No resistance problems: Due to its unique mode of action, Comfortis does not have the flea resistance problems experienced by the older, topical flea treatments such as Frontline Plus, Advantage, and Advantix. In households where these 'spot-ons' are no longer effective or have reduced efficacy, we recommend that you try Comfortis.

We have used Comfortis once and our dog became free of fleas with no side effects at all. We live on a remote island in the Bass Strait and our one vet would not give us a script for comfortis, saying it was not good for dogs. Last year, prior to our using comfortis, fleas were a constant problem. Can we get comfortis without a script?
Hi Annie, Comfortis is a non-prescription product in Australia, so you do not need a script. You are welcome to place an order online or by phone.

Topical flea treatments and sprays were doing nothing for our flea problem about an hour after giving my shih tzu Comfortis I was amazed at the dead fleas on his coat and bedding!! Will never again use anything else but Comfortis.

Itching after applying the comfortis and fleas gone? I hear that some animals are allergic to the flea "saliva" that remains after they bite the animal. Perhaps an oatmeal bath is a good solution for the itching at that time.

Comfort may kill the fleas, but I have found it does NOTHING to stop the dog scratching. My dog has NO fleas, but his constant scratching is sending me insane. Does anyone have a solution to this?

I have been using the liquid spot on flea controls like, Frontline, Frontline Plus & Advantix for over 10 years & this month (January 2014) the Frontline Plus just stopped working. My dog Chachi was going crazy scratching & biting at his skin until it was red raw.
I was at my wits end trying to find a solution when I came across Comfortis.
Chachi just ate the tablet which I hid in a piece of roast chicken & within the hour I could see the fleas falling off him as they died.
I recommend Comfortis as a no fuss easy effective method of flea control.
