The Denosyl dosage and administration information found below is current at the time of publishing, but may be subject to change. Always check the product label and/or product insert to verify this information BEFORE giving any medication, or contact your veterinarian.
Please note that the following information applies only to Denosyl Tablets and NOT Denosyl Chewable Tablets (which can be divided without changes in absorption). Please refer to the product information for Denosyl Chewable Tablets for dosing information.
Dosage of Denosyl Tablets
Denosyl Tablets feature a special coating which enhances absorption and prevents destruction of the active ingredient by stomach acid. Cutting a tablet will mean that this coating is ineffective. NEVER cut up the Denosyl tablets - give whole tablets only. Dosages are based on the nearest whole-tablet.
Daily administration is based on 20 mg/kg bodyweight of S-Adenosylmethionine, rounded to the closest whole-tablet dose.
Using Denosyl 90mg for Cats and Small Dogs:
Up to 5.9kg in bodyweight: Give 1 tablet daily.
Using Denosyl 225mg for Medium Dogs:
6 to 15.9kg in bodyweight: Give 1 tablet daily;
Using Denosyl 425mg for Large Dogs:
16 to 29.9kg: Give 1 tablet daily;
In the event of overdose please contact a veterinarian immediately.
How to Give Denosyl Tablets
Denosyl Tablets should be given on an empty stomach, preferably one hour before feeding. The absorption of the active ingredient S-Adenosylmethionine is increased in the empty stomach. In the case of pets who dislike tablets, disguising the medication in a small bit of food is acceptable.
Administer a small amount of water (a few mls) after the dose to ensure that the tablet(s) pass into the stomach easily and do not become lodged in the oesophagus where they will be be absorbed.
If more than one (1) tablet is to be given to your pet per day, the dose may be divided. For example, if your pet takes three (3) tablets per day, this daily dose may be divided into two tablets in the morning and one in the afternoon. Always dose with whole tablets though - never divide a dose by cutting a tablet.

Comments on Dosage and Use of Denosyl Tablets
Dear Aussie Pet team,
I wish to thank you for the efficient way in which you handle orders, including the excellent packaging. I am a new customer. After a number of years of dealing with another Queensland company which has charged me far more than you have for Denosyl - essential for my little dog who has had an autonomic liver condition for many years. The products have not always arrived in an acceptable condition. I cannot emphasise enough how pleased I am with Aussie Pet. I plan to leave your details at the Adelaide Animal Hospital where my dog Jessie has been well cared for over the past 13 years so that other people whose dogs may have a similar condition to Jessie will have the option of ordering products from you – which are most certainly cheaper than purchasing them from the Vet or other companies, it seems.
Again, many thanks.
