Denosyl Product Information
What are Denosyl Tablets?
Denosyl is a dietary supplement which provides anti-oxidant protection for the liver and other important tissues.
Your vet may recommend Denosyl for your pet if the liver or other vital organs are showing signs of damage due to toxins, drugs, or other oxidants.
How does Denosyl Work?
Denosyl contains S-Adenosylmethionine, which is a substance normally found in healthy animals and which is synthesised by many cells in the body naturally.
S-Adenosylmethionine plays an essential role in metabolism, particularly in the liver. Supplementation with this compound has been shown to result in improvements in the function of the liver and several other tissues.
S-Adenosylmethionine increases the levels of the anti-oxidant glutathione in the liver. This powerful anti-oxidant protects against toxins, drugs and other insults, at the same time as improving the efficiency of the organ. Glutathione has also been shown to protect liver cells from cell death, and to improve bile flow in cats.
Dosing and Administration
Denosyl has demonstrated a high degree of safety in dogs and cats with no known side effects.
Denosyl is a non-prescription, OTC (over the counter) nutritional supplement.
